Welcome to Bollinbrook Primary, here at Bollinbrook we pride ourselves on supporting the children and their families during their first steps on their journey into full time education.

Please use the class page for information about what's going on at school, events and activities which are coming up as well as a resource of support by using the files section.

Teaching and Learning

As we don't follow set topics but alternatively use the children's interests to inform our planning we appreciate you sharing WOW moments or your child's current interests with us either by face-to-face conversations  or via Tapestry so that we can ensure the children are motivated to learn.

On Monday's the EYFS children will hve a music lesson with Mrs Tennant, the school's specialist music teacher. They will explore rhythmn, beat, pitch and much more.

Each Thursday we will have PE in the hall in addition to outdoor learning each day in the outdoor classroom. For PE lessons the children will change into their shorts and t-shirts and change their footwear. Initially we will focus on the rules of being in the hall and keeping safe, before moving onto using equipment, experimenting with different ways of moving, jumping and landing, and playing games.

Throughout the week the children will join the school for collective worship in the hall. On Friday's we have a celebration assembly where tecahers choose a child to receive the Headteacher's award for academic achievement, and a Star of the Week award for exemplary behaviour. This information is also posted on the school homepage, so watch that space for your little one's name!

Each day there is a variety of healthy fruit or vegetable snacks in the classroom at the permanent snack table. Your child is welcome to bring a snack in from home but we ask that these are healthy choices and refrain from bringing in biscuits, crisps or chocolate.

Adult helpers

We love to have parents, carers and grandparents in class to help with listening to readers, garden, work with groups of children. If you would like to come in and help please see a member of the EYFS team.

We want your child to have a fantastic time at Bollinbrook and urge you to ask any questions no matter how big or small they seem so that we can support them and you.
